The new scientific European Space Agency (ESA) missions are demanding new restrictions for Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) coming from the scientists. The observation of the deep space, our closer planets and stars requires the measurement of very low Electric and Magnetic fields that imposes important challenges of EMC compatibility for all the on-board equipment of the satellite. This paper presents these new requirements for emission (E-field and H-field) and magnetic fields for two of the last ESA mission; Solar Orbiter and Juice and compare them with the standards requirement coming from the ESA standards. These challenges will appear in two of the development phases: design phase and verification phases. These new requirements shall be taking into account in the design but also during the verification and testing. The measurements required for the verification of these requirements are also an important challenge. This paper shown the test challenge during the verification.es
